My current favorite - Gin & Tonic
- Bombay Sapphire
- Squeeze of lime juice
- Fresh tonic water

60% Gin...the rest is lime juice and tonic.  Mix well and you are good to go.  You have drunk too much when you start having trouble typing.

What's your favorite drink?  And why?

Good Raiding!!!!!
First get SDM (Super Duper Macro).  This will allow you to create single macros  larger than 250 characters.

Next create, a macro called MM,  Paste the following text and save

/script UIErrorsFrame:Hide()
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/cast !Auto Shot
/cast Silencing Shot
/cast [target=pettarget, exists] Kill command
/click sdb_ChiS
/click sdb_ArcS
/castsequence reset=target serpent sting,null
/click sdb_AimS
/cast Steady Shot
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1
/script UIErrorsFrame:Show()

Next create a Macro called ChiS (for Chimera Shot).  Paste the following text and save
#showtooltip Chimera Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Hide()
/castsequence reset=8.5 Chimera Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Show()

Next create a macro called AimS (for Aimed Shot).  Paste the following text and save
#showtooltip Aimed Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Hide()
/castsequence reset=9.9 Aimed Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Show()

Next create a macro called ArcS (for Arcane Shot).  Paste the following text and save
#showtooltip Arcane Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Hide()
/castsequence reset=5.3 Arcane Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Show()

From SDM, drag your MM button to button slot and bind it to your scroll wheel.

Go fight something...Mark It...Send in pet...and spin your scroll wheel as fast as you can.  Don't die.  Do great DPS.  The End.
The most important aspect of doing great DPS besides staying alive has to do with the shot rotation that is used.  For the Marksman, there are two popular builds which will dictate which rotation is used.  First the one I use and then second the Armor Penetration build.

Abe's Rotation - Serpent Sting, Silencing Shot, Chimera Shot, Arcane Shot, Aimed Shot, Steady Shot (Kill Shot is weaved in when it becomes available)

Here is my build, Abe's Armory.

A few comments on my build and rotation.  There are many factors that can impact your rotation.  Most of all will be spec, gear, and latency.  I do not have the absolute highest DPS spec because I am responsible for having Improved Hunter's Mark for Calzowned's raid as well as keeping True Shot Aura up.  If I did not have to insure we had these I could modify my spec to provide a little more DPS.  Second, gear has a big impact on what spec and rotation might be best to maximize DPS.  And third latency will effect your rotation and performance.  I personally picked a server that I knew was close to my physical location.  I am typically running between 15 to 25msec for my latency.

To best determine what rotation, spec, and gear will work best for you.  I recommend using a Cheeky's-Shandra's spreadsheet that can be acquired at TKASomething.com.  The spreadsheet link is on the main page of the AbeHunter.com.  We will cover the use of this in a later post.

To best execute a given rotation, you must insure you are casting the appropriate shot at the appropriate time based upon the cooldown of a given shot.  I am a strong believer in macroing shot rotations.  I believe this provides the best execution while still giving you situational awareness, i.e. making sure you are not standing in fire.  I will cover the composition of macros in my next post.

I just noticed I have two next posts I have to do.  So I'm going to end this one and start on my next two posts.  In either case, get the spreadsheet and start playing around with it.

Just a reminder: As we mentioned a couple weeks back, on November 11, 2009 , all current World of Warcraft players must merge their World of Warcraft accounts with a Battle.net account in order to log in to the game. As our way to say "thanks" for taking a moment to go through the process, all accounts that upgrade to Battle.net will receive a brand-new penguin in-game pet. On November 11, all World of Warcraft players will need to log in to the game using a Battle.net username and password, and anyone who wishes to create a new World of Warcraft account will need to start with a Battle.net account.

Creating a Battle.net account is simple and free. To merge your existing account with a Battle.net account and receive your penguin in-game pet today, visit here. For more info, check out the Battle.net site or read the FAQ.
The goal will be to prepare you to be on top of the DPS charts for 10-/25-man raids. This topic will be broken into several posts that will consist of the following.

1. Hunter Shot Rotation
2. Macro use and setup
3. Hunter Gear
4. Raid Setup
5. What to do when you are battling
6. Server Location and Computer Hardware

Particular add-ons and other resources will be addressed as needed.

Here's a link to a couple raids.  We've cleared through Anub but the log is messed up for some reason.
